Last year, I had the pleasure of getting to know Sue Sartor, a new-to-me designers who designs colorful printed dresses and kaftans. A Sue Sartor dress is true statement piece. In fact, when scrolling through Instagram, her pieces can be spotted from miles (or should I say scrolls) away.
Today, I’m excited to share the new Sue Sartor dress addition to my wardrobe – the Leontine. This posh pastel midi dress is elegant, feminine, and the perfect embodiment of spring. Furthermore, Sue Sartor’s pieces are made out of natural sustainable 100% cotton, and fully lined in fun contrast print breathable material.
Sue Sartor Dress
The first piece that I owned from Sue Sartor? Her Paloma dress – a pink, kumquat and green mixed floral print. The hand-stamped custom woodblook print is made by artisans in Jaipur, India. Overall, Sue offers each dress in two different lengths – 37″ and 50.” For reference, I’m wearing the 50″.
In fact, the Paloma dress is inspired by designer and blogger, Paloma Contreras. Over the years, Palomas has carved a unique path and personal style that’s positively stunning and effortlessly. Overall, I think it’s the perfect travel dress, and I can’t wait to wear it on my next trip to Palm Springs.
Leontine Dress
Today, I’m featuring Sue Sartor’s Leontine Dress. Similar to the Paloma, the Leontine features a placket front, 2” Neru collar, covered buttons and contrast piping. Plus, I’m a huge fan of the sash, which allows you to cinch the waist and personalize it to your style. Some days I wear it with a bow, other times I simply knot it.
Furthermore, the Leontine is inspired by Leontine Linens founder and designer, Jane Scott Hodges. In case your unfamiliar, Leontine Linens is a New Orleans-based brand that’s known for stunning monogrammed linens. Therefore, the kaftan dress is the embodiment of the company’s utterly chic sensibility and timeless comfort.
From what I’ve read, the kaftan’s textile was inspired by one of Scott’s table top designs. Similar to the Paloma, the Leontine features a hand-stamped print, gathered shoulder and beautiful cap sleeve.
