Our New Stair Runner
Last month, we took the plunge and added stair runner to our home. It’s something I wanted to do since we first bought this home. To note, the living room (in the front of the home) includes this open stairwell to the upstairs. As such, it’s one of the first things you see upon entering our home. The traditional wood steps with white risers were lovely as-is, but I knew a stair runner would make it that much more inviting. Moreover, it’s added a more secure feeling when traversing from the first to second floor. Often, we have our hands full with various items like water bottles, luggage, bags, etc. Now, I feel far less likely to slip on a bare step since we never wear shoes in our home.
Stair Runner Installation
We received a carpet installation recommendation from our friends over at MegMade. Best of all, the process was so smooth. There was one site visit for measurements and a closer look at fabric options for the binding. Then, they told us the quantity of 2.5×8 runners we needed to order in total. After they arrived, they had the binding installed offsite. Finally, they came back for the full install. In total, the installation only took about an hour! Beneath the runner itself, they installed a sturdy, memory foam pad. I’m absolutely obsessed with the result and would do it again in a heartbeat!
