The 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has concluded. However, read my most current Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Guide for details on this year’s sale!
Today marks the start of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020. Every year, for me – the sale feels like Christmas in July. In the past, I would do a bunch of blog and social media content about the sale. Friends, I’d even take a vacation day from work to cover the first day of the sale. After all, Nordstrom is one of my favorite retailers, and I always want to bring you great content, and Nordstrom Anniversary Sale best buys.
This year, the world is different. An increased cadence of shopping and sale content didn’t feel right. Not even not right – it felt tone deaf to the world.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Best Buys
This year, I’m keeping both my NSale content and purchases focused and limited. I love Nordstrom, I love this sale, and I’m excited to shop and support. Overall, I’m simply looking to be fiscally responsible during this strange, scary season.
Today, I’m sharing the 13 products that I’m planning to buy and keep from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020. Yes, 13 items is still a lot! But it’s much less than previous years, lol. Here we go….
Barefoot Dreams Blankets
The hype is real. I’ve owned Barefoot Dreams blankets since 2005, and I can attest to the soft, cozy fabric. They’re a slice of heaven! There’s a reason why this brand is a bestseller every single year.
Fun fact: this blanket is also more inexpensive than last year’s price. And yes, I went back to my receipts to triple confirm 🙂
This year, I’m buying three more for our living room, basement and family room. I plan to store them in baskets for when we get cold or want an extra cozy moment. This style will sell out first (cream version), and I anticipate this version will super be popular as well.
Additionally, I’m planning to buy these cozy socks to wear while working at home. The pink and white ones are so feminine and chic!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Sweaters and Denim
The category with the best “cost per wear?” Sweaters and cardigans. I’ve never regretted buying a sweater from the sale. My go-to brands for sweaters are Madewell, Halogen, Gibson, and Caslon. I’m planning to buy this $60 cardigan, this mockneck striped sweater, and a second version of this cozy style that I bought last year. Two of my favorite picks for denim this year are these cropped AG jeans and these black fray hem jeans by Mother. These tan booties by Marc Fisher will pair perfectly with all of them!
Skincare
Phew! My skincare shopping list is long but mighty! First and foremost, this haircare set. It’s by my go-to shampoo and conditioner brand. This amazing Mini Miracles Set and this skincare duo are also being added to cart. Last but not least, both Bob and I are stocking up on our fave Midnight Concentrate.
Home Fragrance
I’ve been on a big home fragrance kick as of late. Is there anything better than having a signature scent?! We’re currently testing Voluspa’s French Cade Lavender, which is positively divine. My plan is to try this candle set, which several readers recently recommended.
Dresses
Pandemic or not, I’ll always be a fan of dresses! My go-to brands at Nordstrom are Eliza J and Harper Rose. Their fits, fabrics and silhouettes get me every time! This red dress is pure dynamite (I tried it on and Bob called me “a whole snack,” haha!). This printed dress is super versatile and comfy and I adore this purple and pink floral frock. A huge thanks to both brands for sending me a few gifted items to preview! They’re truly divine. Check Instagram for a special try-on session in Reels!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Bestsellers
After covering the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for years, I’ve started to notice a pattern of items that sellout before Public Access goes live. Here are the insanely popular items that I expect will fly off the shelves during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020.
- These sneakers (in black) will surely be gone before Public Access.
- Anything and everything by this brand – especially this version.
- Denim is always big. These Madewell jeans will go fast.
- These Nike Dri-Fit Biker shorts. Not for me, but they’re super trendy. I prefer this pair.
- These Tory Burch $50 logo earrings.
What’s on your list? I can’t wait to hear what you buy!
In Closing
My upcoming Instagram Reel (hooray for Reels!) also tackles a hot topic – do bloggers actually keep the items they buy from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? The short answer? No. But I tend to keep the vast majority. Remember that cute leopard print cardigan from last year? Still have it! That striped sweater? Folded in my closet as we speak! Affordable lace-trimmed camisole? I layer it with everything to this day.
Sure, some items end up being returned because of fit or a change of mind. The key to successfully shopping the sale is investing in items that you’ll truly use again and again for the foreseeable future. Be smart, strategic and remember – you don’t need everything!
Disclosure: This post includes affiliate links where I may receive a small percentage of items that are purchased. This does not cost you anything!
