Greetings from Nantucket! After a forced pandemic hiatus last year, we are back at our favorite summer destination. By the looks of things, quite a few others have made this their 2021 vacation spot. The island is absolutely buzzing! Moreover, United recently begun direct flights from Chicago (Fridays-Sundays), so it’s easier then ever to visit the Grey Lady from the Windy City! Plus, their connecting flights via Newark and Boston are still running, so there really isn’t a reason NOT to travel here, lol!
This year, we’re thankful to be spending more time on the island than ever. It will make it that much easier to really relax and unwind. Of course, I brought a few fun outfits to photograph, but I made a point to keep it all within reason (I think, lol). I also brought along my new favorite colorful bag – the Brandon Blackwood Kendrick trunk. Months ago, I preordered this hard-to-get style. Thankfully, it was delivered just last week! The textured leather is perfection, and I love that it’s the perfect pinky-purple pastel.
Getaway Plans
While we’re here, we’ll be staying at both the White Elephant Hotel as well as another beloved property where we’ve stayed previously. Moreover, we did our best to make as many restaurant reservations as possible. Given the busyness this time of year (and the winding down of the pandemic), we thought it best to secure places to go. In all years previous, we usually would just head out wherever and maybe make a reservation or two. This year, we knew it would be much easier to plan out as many spots as possible. Best of all, we’ve been able to try a few new-to-us restaurants!
Last night, we met up with Mackenzie and her husband Will along with Allie and Elle for dinner at Ventuno. It was my first time there, and I loved the Italian fare! We ordered a few apps, and I had one of their more popular pasta dishes for dinner. Based on Will’s recommendation, Bob had the lamb and loved it. Thankfully, we were able to get a table outside, and the weather was perfect. Same goes for the company, conversations, and laughs!
