Here’s What Happened at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Recap

Veuve Clicquot Sun Club

The first weekend of October is reserved for one thing alone – the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles. Today, I wanted to dive into a full Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles recap – our favorite event of the entire year.

As other VCPC regulars know, the VC Polo Classic LA was on hold for a couple of years. In fact, there were times we wondered if the experience would ever return to the hollowed grounds of Will Rogers State National Park. Thankfully, the West Coast experience is back!

Just like Le Grande Dame herself, Veuve never disappoints. Plus, the brand never does the same thing twice. In true form, this year brought unexpected twists, turns, and surprises, making the whole experience unique and singular.

Thankfully, all iconic elements remained the same – the outfit and people watching, event décor, stunning backdrop of Will Rogers State National Park, and impeccable polo skills from Veuve regulars Nacho and Delfina.

So what exactly happened at this year’s event? Let’s dive in (and divot), shall we?

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Review

Simply put, the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic events have become a cherished tradition for us as a couple. There are only three things we mark our calendars for – Nantucket, VCPC New York, and VCPC LA events. 🙂

We sincerely adore the Veuve Clicquot brand. We purchase their products, entertain with them, send bottles as gifts, and sincerely love everything about the Clicquot lifestyle. In fact, every summer – our dear friends, Allie, Carter, and us take a sunset cruise on Nantucket – always complete with a bottle of Veuve, of course.

It’s become a part of our lives. In essence, our love of the event itself stems from our genuine appreciation for the product and brand. Moreover, I love seeing their unique activations like their Veuve Clicquot Garden at Ocean House to Hotel Clicquot Australia. They understand marketing. Some companies overlook things like PR and influencer relations. Veuve Clicquot? A masterclass on all things brand.

At the same time, a lot has changed and evolved with the VCPC experience – staring off with the theme. For the first time ever, they embraced a Veuve Clicquot “Sun Club” theme. Think a pool-inspired seating area, striped pool floaties and pillows, etc. Endless summer, if you will. The crisp orange and turquoise hues were seen throughout the décor, adding to a fresh and bright feel to the overall design.

In the past, florals have been a central theme. Walking into the 2024 experience? It was like stepping into a St. Tropez striped, beach-club concept in the best possible way.

We enjoyed sipping, savoring, and sincerely enjoying the event. The afternoon was spent chatting with friends and catching up, vs. constantly being on phones and cameras. To be transparent, there was one glaring omission from VCPC LA – our friends, Megan and John.

Gracious, they love the brand as much as us. It was not the same without them, and we sincerely hope they’ll be back in 2025.

What I Wore for the Event

This year, I chose to select something I already had in my closet. Sure, I adore finding new dresses and outfits, but there are so many special pieces that I don’t get to wear often enough as of late. This gorgeous Carolina Herrera jumpsuit is one of them.

For several years, I’ve worn the Carolina Herrera brand to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, including this pink floral suit to VCPC New York and this emerald green floral dress. It only felt right to wear this piece. Plus, I’ve never worn a jumpsuit before.

To complete the look, I opted for one of my fave new favorite pearl earrings (under $50) and this monogrammed clutch. Oh, and these shoes are easily one of my most comfortable heels. I wear them a TON at work, and decided to wear them for the event. They’re reliable and oh so comfy.

What Bob Wore for the Event

On the other hand, Bob opted for a phenomenal jacket and blazer from vineyard vines. So dapper as always! VV is always a go-to brand for both of us, and they truly design such wonderful pieces.

He chose to style things with a blue button-down shirt and five-pocket navy pants (he loves these!). In typical Bob form, he decided to wear Adidas white sneakers that are super comfy.

When Does the Event Take Place

The New York event takes place the first weekend of June, and the Los Angeles experience is the first weekend in October.

Since we’ve experienced both events, I can attest to the fact they are VERY different. For example, guests must take a 15-20-minute ferry to the event in New York, whereas you take buses/shuttles in Los Angeles.

Everything, and I mean everything, is different. That’s part of the reason why we love attending both experiences.

In Closing – Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Review Los Angeles

Simply put, we wish the entire VCPC experience could be bottled up for everyone to enjoy. It’s singular and incredibly special; something you wish would never end.

Thank you Veuve Clicquot family for allowing us to be part of the exceptional experience. We are extremely grateful, and look forward to NYC!
