Say “hello” to the new Tuckernuck Nantucket Reds collection, a limited-edition capsule of womenswear pieces, including dresses, pants, sweaters, and beyond. The nine-piece coastal-infused collection brings together two of my absolute favorite things – Nantucket, of course, along with Tuckernuck, one of my go-to brands.
In every respect, “Nantucket red” is the signature hue of the island. It’s a uniform of sorts, and you’ll find the color on everything on ACK from pants to dresses, hats to t-shirts, sweatshirts to coffee cups. I mean everything.
We’ve visited the island for more than a decade, and it’s easy to spot the iconic color. However, this collection offers something unique, and infuses the iconic color into Tuckernuck’s stylish pieces.
While on Nantucket, I spent the morning catching up with my friends, Carter (wearing the Mini Delaney Dress) and Allie in town. We walked around, enjoyed coffee, and spent the day just enjoying the gorgeous weather.
Tuckernuck Nantucket Reds
The first thing to understand about the capsule is that it all goes back to Murray’s Toggery Shop. An iconic independent retail store on Nantucket, Murray’s red-washed fabric is officially trademarked as Nantucket Reds™
Over the years, Murray’s has been the must-stop shop for both me and Bob on the island. It’s easily one of our most cherished boutiques, and we tend to do (multiple) visits.
In fact, many friends will make fun of Bob for coming back with one of Murray’s Nantucket Reds ACK baseball hats year after year. Granted, they recently changed the font on it, so Bob no longer buys it. But that story is for another day, lol. This year, I bought new Peter Beaton hat ribbons at the store. Moreover, I also love the fact they carry Sail to Sable.
But to this day, I haven’t purchased any of their Nantucket Reds clothing items for women. Sure, they have grown their offerings over the years. But I tend to stop in for accessories, ACK branded items, and other pieces from smaller brands.
Therefore, the Tuckernuck Nantucket Reds Collection is the perfect addition into the mix.
History of Nantucket Reds
So what is the background and history of Nantucket Reds? Nantucket Reds launched in 1963 with a collection of men’s pants made of a faded red cotton inspired by the red sail boats in Brittany, France. The fabric softens and fades over time, and gets better with each wear.
Another fact I love? Murray’s is still family owned and operated.
What I Chose from the Collection
Evey single piece is amazing, but it was love at first sight with the Nantucket Red Stretch Twill Callahan Shirt Dress ($228). This piece is incredibly versatile, and easy to wear from Broad Street to the beach, and of course – ice cream at Juice Bar.
The silhouette features a collared front button placket, long sleeves with button cuffs, and a chic flutter hemline. For day, I like to wear it with sneakers or espadrilles, and switch to these gold shoes for dinners and date nights.
Other Favorites
Beyond the Nantucket Red Stretch Twill Callahan Shirt Dress, I also love the Twill Chloe Dress. I’ve worn the bright citron version of the Tuckernuck Chloe Dress. As such, I can attest to the fact that it’s SUPER chic and comfortable. For this particular style, I’d recommend taking your true size (especially if you have a slightly larger bust for your size).
Another style standout? The Cropped Americana Sweater ($228). The piece features a more boxy fit, but a fantastic modern take on the super popular and timeless American flag sweaters.
Fit Notes
I’d highly recommend sizing down one full size in the Callahan Shirt Dress (what I’m wearing). For example, I wear a size small, and I could easily wear a size extra small or extra extra small.
Tuckernuck Nantucket Reds Collection Prices
Prices range from $198 for these shorts up to $328 for the Twill Chloe Dress.
In closing, I highly recommend checking out the nine-piece Tuckernuck x Nantucket Reds collection. It’s a perfect dose of style from our favorite domestic destination in the world. I’m confident you’ll love it!
