A few weeks ago, Bob and I took a day trip to northern Illinois. As I’ve shared a bit before, we’ve been toying with the idea of a buying a lake home sometime in the future. While somewhere in Bob’s home state of Wisconsin would be most ideal, there are definitely some great lake communities in Illinois, too! While we were familiarizing ourselves with a few of those areas, we decided to stop by Von Bergen’s Country Market and their beautiful sunflower fields. Thankfully, there were still tickets available for that day! I brought along this classic shirtdress by Tory Burch, as I thought the purple would be a lovely pop against the late-summer backdrop.
While we didn’t find our dream vacation home that weekend, it was fun to explore new parts of our home state. Best of all, the late-August weather was absolute perfect. Now that fall is here, the site is hosting a pumpkin festival – looks like a great option for families with little ones! Have you gone on any weekend excursions lately?
