Friends, get ready! I’m excited to preview the Target Fall Designer Collection featuring Victor Glemaud, Nili Lotan, Rachel Comey and Sandy Liang. If this summer’s Designer Dress Collection was any indicator, expect the limited-edition lines to be INCREDIBLE. I still can’t get over the Christopher John Rogers pieces.
What should we expect from the limited-edition line? Furthermore, how do you get your hands on the pieces? After all, many of the Target x CJR pieces sold out in the first 24 hours. Therefore, today, I wanted to share some tips and advice to make sure that you get the items that you want.
As always, please do not feel pressured to buy anything. Some of the items may not align with your personal style. Maybe you even have similar pieces in your closet? It’s important to set a budget and stick to it. Plus, I think this is the perfect time to identify products that align with your current lifestyle but also pieces you can see in your closet for the long haul.
Lastly, please stay tuned for even more previews of the collections. I’ll be updating this blog post when more images and photos are released!
TARGET FALL DESIGNER COLLECTION
Based on initial previews, each designer’s pieces will reflect their signature aesthetics. From what I’ve read, there will be modern pieces like leather blouses to more timeless pieces like smocked dresses. Ultimately, the goal of the Target Fall Designer Collection is to bring forward the ultimate autumn apparel essentials.
How Many Styles will be in the Target Fall Designer Collection?
Get ready for 180 apparel and accessories items! This is slightly more pieces than the Designer Dress collection. In fact, my gut says they’ll evenly split the amount of pieces from each designer (i.e. each one will have 45 total limited-edition products).
from XXS through 4X, with most under $50, there’s something for everyone this fall and beyond. Thankfully, each designer has a distinct point of view, which means there’s some something for everyone.
TARGET VICTOR GLEMAUD
To be transparent, Victor Glemaud is a relatively new-to-me brand. Granted, the more I research him, the more I wish he’d been introduced sooner! In fact, there are SO many reasons to adore him and his collection.
Okay, so the Haitian-American designer is known for creating inclusive knitwear pieces. I especially love his approach of “designing for all people,” meaning all races, genders, sizes and even personalities. Furthermore, his accolades are very impressive, and he was even named a finalist in the 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
Also he also worked as a PUBLICIST at KCD! SO cool. At the same time, he has always had one foot in the fashion and design world and ultimately became the Womenswear Design Advisor and later as Studio Director at Paco Rabanne, followed by Style Director at Tommy Hilfiger. Pretty impressive resume, right?
Overall, I’m excited for his limited-edition Target Fall Designer collection pieces, which will feature multicolored stripes and color blocking. Can’t wait! Below, I’ve curated a few pieces from his main line.
TARGET NILI LOTAN
Next up, Nili Lotan is known for a blend of European simplicity and ’70s Americana. She officially launched her collection 2003, and the Israeli-born and New York-based fashion designer has worked at countless top tier American fashion houses including Ralph Lauren, Liz Claiborne, and Nautica.
Furthermore, her main line collection is features apparel for the modern urban woman that’s all made in New York. Overall, the clothing design philosophy is pure and sophisticated. Expect jumpsuits, slip dresses and stylish outerwear.
Below, I’ve included some of her current collection to get a sense of the apparel that she creates.
TARGET RACHEL COMEY
Out of all of the designers, I’m most familiar with Rachel Comey. Moreover, I remember the first time ever really falling love with her brand. At an industry conference, a random attendee was wearing this top with a pair of jeans. I distinctly remember thinking, “WOW, what a cool top.” It turned out to be Rachel Comey.
If you’ve been following Style Charade for some time, you’ll know I’m not a huge top fan. It takes A LOT for me to adore separates (especially tops). I wish I was kidding! Frankly, most t-shirts, tank tops, sweaters, and blouses bore me as designers rarely take chances.
Enter Rachel Comey. She’s ALL about taking risks and creating fashionable surprise and delight moments. From what I’ve gathered, she’s going to have a unique blend of pieces such as sweater pants and denim handbags.
TARGET SANDY LIANG
Last but not least, I’m thrilled to see Sandy Liang in the mix! She’s an NYC designer who’s greatly inspired by her childhood memories. Furthermore, she attended the Rhode Island School of Design for architecture, transferred to Parsons to study fashion design.
While she’s mostly known for her outerwear, she’s expanded her collection to include a stylish mix of other designs, including midi dresses, shirts, and beyond. With the Target capsule collection, Sandy is planning to bring a “sweet-meets-sporty designs,” including her signature patchwork fleece.
