Friends, buckle up! The next limited-edition Target Designer Dress Collection was just released, and it’s SO good. In fact, the collection is officially live to shop now. Thankfully, they’re collaborating with three fabulous brands, including Kika Vargas, La Ligne, and Sergio Hudson.
Overall, the limited-time-only collection features 100 items and range in price from $8-$70. Best of all, this collections once again marks Targets commitment to size-inclusivity. So good!
Target Designer Dress Collection
Are you familiar with the Target Designer Dress collection? For the past 20+ years, Target has partnered with some of the biggest names in the industry. Plus, their limited-edition collections have included a range of emerging and established brands, and I especially love they partner with diverse designers.
In the past, they’ve partnered with brands like Cushnie, LoveShack Fancy, and Lisa Marie Fernandez. Did you shop the last collection? I purchased a piece from Lisa Marie Fernandez, and it’s the perfect summery item for a beach vacation.
For 2022, the limited-edition capsule lines include Kika Vargas, La Ligne, and Sergio Hudson. Once again, the Target Designer Dress lineup is PHENOMENAL. Plus, if the pieces are as great in-person as they are in the previews, we’re in business. 🙂 Below, I’m sharing some background on each designer and also highlighting a few items.
Target Designer Dress Collection Launch Date
As a reminder, the Target Designer Dress collection will launch on in October 2022 on Target.com and also within select stores starting October 9th.
How Many Pieces Will Be Available?
There are going to be 100 total apparel and accessories as a part of the Target Designer Dress collection.

The products start at $8 to $70. Pretty incredible that everything’s going to retail for under $100. Wild. Expect the jackets to be the most expensive items, including the La Ligne Trench Coat and the Sergio Hudson’s purple wool coat and bold houndstooth faux fur jacket.
What Target Designer Dress Sizes will be Available?
The Target Designer Dress Collection will be available in sizes XXS-4X. As discussed, continuing Target’s effort to bring most size inclusive collections. I’m thrilled to see their commitment to inclusivity continue as the 2021 line was the first time they offered it!

Alright, the entire collection will be available exclusively on Target.com along with select Target stores on Sunday, May 16th. According to the website, the collection will go live online at 2 AM CST. Additionally, shoppers will be available to utilize Target’s contactless same-day pickup options, including Drive Up and Order Pickup. So good! What did we do without the Drive Up option before? It’s so seamless!
2022 Target Designer Collection – Kika Vargas
Friends, where do I start? I’m SO excited about the Kika Vargas pieces, especially the black dress below. In case your’e not familiar, Kika Vargas is a Colombian designer known for pairing her hand-drawn prints with bold, feminine layering pieces.
Typically, her dresses run upwards of $1,000+. Therefore, the Kika Vargas for Target will be much more attainable. There’s a well-curated mix of dresses, tops, skirts and bottoms that play on her style signatures of both structure and volume.
Currently, the Coral Reef Scallop Edge Wrap Top is the bestselling style. I also really adore the Tiered Ruffle Edge Puff Sleeve Midi Dress. Her regular line sells a similar style for a whopping $790. At $55, this dress is a real steal.
About La Ligne
For La Ligne, it’s all about the stripe. Founded by Vogue editors Valerie Macaulay and Meredith Melling along with fashion executive Molly Howard, La Ligne creates timeless pieces for day or night and their Target collection features staples like sweaters, pants and dresses designed in the brand’s iconic stripes.
Funny enough, I used to work with Meredith Melling when she was at Vogue. She specifically edited the “Index” page for the magazine, the final page of the publication. Every issue, the Index page was the first place I’d flip to. Over the years, I pitched her countless items for inclusion, and she was always responsive and kind (even if certain items weren’t a fit).
La Ligne for Target will include several versatile style staples. Think comfy sweaters, cozy pants and dresses. For stripe pattern lovers, this capsule line is for you as the brand’s iconic stripes are woven throughout.
Sergio Hudson for Target
Last but not certainly least is Sergio Hudson. He was the 2022 recipient of Harlem’s Fashion Show Designer of the Year, and started his brand in 2014 after winning Bravo’s “Styled to Rock” competition. From dressing A-list celebrities to athletes, Sergio Hudson is especially known for immaculate tailoring.
Furthermore, he embraces bold jewel tone colors (which makes me so happy!). Plus, he understand the balance of designing both flattering silhouettes with bold patterns. Moreover, his collections embrace the power and strength of femininity. Love that!
What’s on deck for his collection? Expect Sergio Hudson for Target’s line to include matching sets, including a cropped pink jacket and trousers. Also, several dresses with classic silhouettes. Finally, the coats, which are total statement pieces.
2021 Fall Designer Collections: ALEXIS
Last year, Target worked with ALEXIS for their Fall 2021 designer collections. First, I love the brand was founded by a mother-daughter duo, Alexis Barbara Isaias and Ana Barbara. Since 2018, they’ve been designing a feminine contemporary collections. Additionally, the ALEXIS for Target features effortless dresses that are great for special occasions and work.
In the past, I’ve loved wearing pieces by ALEXIS, including this watercolor maxi dress, embellished fit and flare style, and this orange statement gown. Thankfully, the Target for ALEXIS collection has a much more reasonable price point, and the styles still pack a powerful punch.
2021 Participating Target Designer: Christopher John Rogers
Hooray! Transparently, I’m most excited about Target’s collaboration with Christopher John Rogers. Overall, he’s been taking the world by story with his eponymous label. Furthermore, he was named as the 2019 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)/Vogue Fashion Fund winner, and the 2020 CFDA American Emerging Designer of the Year. Check out the entire preview of the collection here.
Moreover, Christopher John Rogers is all about eye-catching statement styles. His pieces are colorful, bold, and feature phenomenal patterns. Based on the previews shared for Target, his styles are going to FLY off the shelves (and website). So excited for him!
2021 Participating Designer: RIXO
In 2015, RIXO was founded by two best friends, Orlagh McCloskey and Henrietta Rix. Soon, these talented London designers took off and made a name for their colorful patterns and feminine styles. Plus, they are big supporters of empowering women. Furthermore, RIXO balances a vintage flair with a dose of modern style. In many ways, it’s perfect for the woman-on-the-go.
Therefore, it’s no suerprise the RIXO for Target dresses offer posh prints inspired by art, the designers’ travels, and vintage styles. Overall, RIXO’s mission is to design clothes that make people feel like the best version of themselves.
Friends, I’m head over heels happy that RIXO is a part of this limited-edition release. Their collection is SO pretty. In fact, this sequin ombré dress remains one of my favorite dresses in my closet.
In Closing
Doesn’t everything look amazing? Lastly, what’s your favorite style from the Target Designer Dress Collection? Overall, I’m most excited about Christopher John Rogers. I hope no doubt RIXO and ALEXIS will do well, too. Finally, keep me posted on what you buy! I can’t wait to see what you get and your thoughts on the collection.
