For the past week or so, we’ve begun doing our part to try and flatten the curve by maintaining social distance. Although it’s been quite a shift, we both feel so thankful that we have the ability to do so.
Beyond prepping our house with small necessities (and within reason!), we’ve been thinking about ways to help during this pandemic. Some of the best advice I’ve found is to avoid any and all group gatherings (this one is paramount), donate to your local food bank, check-in with friends and family, make an appointment to donate blood, and invest in your local small businesses.
Chicago was among the first major cities to decree that all restaurants need to shut down (save for carryout and delivery). As such, Bob and I have been very aware of the effect on our neighborhood and the city’s local economy. We will continue to order out from our favorite restaurants and hope you do the same! Similarly, we plan to remain attentive to the small businesses who are near and dear to our hearts both in Chicago and across the country. I’ve included many of them at the bottom of this post. I encourage you to consider supporting them as well!
In the coming days and weeks, I’ll be posting content that was photographed previously. Some will be for ongoing collabs with some of my favorite companies. Others will be posts that were fun to create during recent travels. Recently, the idea of posting anything has paralyzed me. My main focus has been and will always be my full-time job. This is even more true with this current pandemic. Yes, I’ll be posting when and where possible, and I hope you’ll check-in with me every now and again. I shared this on Instagram Stories a few days ago, but when I do post, please know my hope is to continue to spark positivity, and provide a quick escape from some of your daily stressors. In dark times, my mission is to add color your world (and mine). Sending all my love to each and every one of you!
