Welcome to Nantucket! After an early morning flight from Chicago, we arrived Friday afternoon and have been exploring the island ever since. There’s something so magical about ACK, and it’s Bob’s favorite place in the world. This is only our third time here, but since he loves it so much – we’re trying to come out at least once a year. On the flight, a gentleman was explaining that we should buy property. He was like, “Sure – you come here once a year, stay in a hotel, start to come even more often. You should just buy a property. Diversify your investments.” Bob’s eyes lit up like a Christmas tree, and I had to give him the “eye” (you know, that look you give as a wife that’s like, “don’t even think about it).” Haha! Honestly, we’d love to have a home here, but that would be something for the distant future.
Similar to last time, we’re staying with Lark Hotels at 21 Broad – it’s such a charming property that’s centrally located to EVERYTHING (more on the hotel later – but if you’re planing a trip to Nantucket, definitely check it out). Last night, we met up for dinner with Mackenzie from MackenzieHoran.com and Ali of A Dash of Details and their significant others. Let me tell you – there’s nothing better than great food, wine, and hilarious stories! I haven’t laughed that much in some time. Mackenzie recommended having dinner at The Club Car restaurant in downtown Nantucket, which recently underwent a renovation. The interior is bright and light with accents of blue everywhere. It’s a perfect spot for lunch or dinner, and I recommend ordering the broccolini and crispy potatoes to start – delicious!
Yesterday we work up pretty early to drive to ‘Sconset, which is probably my favorite part on the island. From the picturesque ocean views to charming cottages, lovely lighthouse, and the insanely glamorous estates on the Bluff Walk, ‘Sconset is truly a slice of heaven. I decided to wear these gorgeous pieces from Hampden Clothing. I’ve been a HUGE fan of theirs for years. Back when we were dating, Bob and I went to Charleston, and I remember completely falling in love with their store. Their curated selection of clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories are to die for! Here are some of my fave selections from Hampden Clothing:
Hampden sent me this stunning Self-Portrait embroidered frill mini dress and Loeffler Randall Coco sandals (they also come in yellow and silver), and I couldn’t wait to sport them around the eastern side of the island. After grabbing some coffee, we headed to the main part of town to walk the bustling streets and Bluff Walk (I brought along some flat sandals to be safe). We stumbled on this insanely gorgeous home on Mitchell Street that was covered in flowers – photos don’t even do it justice! I immediately stopped to take photos, and the owner came outside and smiled (glad she wasn’t upset or annoyed)! Phew. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the dress and shoes. I can already tell that they will be on regular rotation in my wardrobe!
We’re headed off to explore some new areas of the island today, so be sure to follow along on Instagram and Instagram Stories.
