Thrilled to share more about my San Diego weekend with Worth New York! From coffee shops to iconic hotels and (of course) mural hunting, it was a fun couple of days to say the least! I’m also taking over the @worthnewyork Instagram account today – be sure to check it out when you have a moment.

The only non-relaxing aspect of any trip for me? Packing. After traveling nearly 100,000 miles in 2016 alone, you’d think I’d be an expert packer. Sadly, nothing could be further from the truth! Thankfully, San Diego is an easy destination for travel, given the amazingly reliable weather. They receive only 12 inches of rainfall each year and zero inches of snow. In other words, heaven.
Furthermore, we planned a range of activities throughout the stay that required different wardrobe changes from casual to elegant. Thankfully, Worth New York’s summer collection was the perfect solution. Their modern and tailored pieces offered peace of mind when gearing up for the trip. The summer 2017 collection is superb for all occasions, truly. I’ve been a fan of the line for some time (as seen here), but for this particular season, they’ve outdone themselves with sumptuous fabrics, sleek silhouettes, and a wide range of options for work, parties, formal events and of course – vacations.
For the weekend, I brought along three of my favorite Worth New York Summer 2017 looks.

There is no better way to start the day than with a strong cup of coffee, especially when it’s from an amazing craft coffeehouse. Communal Coffee is located in the North Park neighborhood of the city. Best of all, it’s a family owned and operated business with great sips like sea salt caramel lattes and iced lavender honey lattes. The brightly lit interior is like the ultimate Pinterest board. There’s basically a cute photo opportunity at every turn!
Worth New York’s stripe knit skirt and rib camisole were the perfect solution for spending the morning in San Diego. The knit tank is incredibly versatile and layers well with pants, skirts, and even denim. It’s an instant classic, and I received so many compliments while walking around North Park. University Avenue is the main thoroughfare of this part of San Diego, and it’s full of so many cute independent shops, boutiques, and restaurants. Directly next door to Communal Coffee is Native Poppy, a floral studio boasting the loveliest blooms and succulents. Above all, it’s the perfect space to enjoy a cup of batch brewed coffee and conversation with friends!
Since we started the day on the north side of San Diego, it was a quick Saturday morning drive (less than 30 minutes) to La Jolla. Not only is this seaside town home to sand and surf, but it’s where you can find the iconic La Valencia Hotel…

Needless to say, this was one of my favorite stops of the day! Dubbed “The Pink Lady,” every wall is the most perfect blush hue with the picturesque scenes around every corner! La Valencia’s rich history dates back to 1926, and it’s been the pastel beacon of San Diego ever since. The stunning views of the Pacific can be seen from the pool, the restaurants, and many of the 114 guest rooms.
When traveling, I always rely on color to add some pizzazz to my vacation wardrobe. Worth New York’s off the shoulder dress in pale azurine proved to be the perfect option when visiting La Valencia’s 7th floor terrace, MED Ocean View Restaurant, for a quick lunch overlooking the colorful gardens and pool.
After a relaxing afternoon in La Jolla, we made the quick drive back to San Diego. As you can guess, no trip is complete without a little mural hunting. Downtown, in the Gaslamp Quarter, you’ll find this expansive mural by Kelsey Montaugue. I love that it covers two sides of the structure and that it conveys the perfect amount of whimsy! Best of all, the plaza had ample chairs and tables for passersby to rest and enjoy this amazing public art!
I changed into Worth New York’s pouf sleeve shirt paired with the sequin long skirt for a romantic dinner with Bob. The skirt is definitely a showstopper! If it was acceptable to wear it morning, noon, and night – I totally would! The crisp white shirt was the perfect compliment to the skirt, and I fully expect that it will be one of my go-to pieces for seasons to come.
