Two years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Ocean House Rhode Island with the team at vineyard vines for their Holiday 2019 collection photo shoot. Looking back, it’s easy a return to Ocean House was in order. When the Sail to Sable team and I designed the Spring 2021 capsule, we wanted to bring it to life in a fun yet different way. Therefore, when they mentioned the idea of doing a trip to Ocean House… I was 100% in!
To celebrate the launch of the Sail to Sable x Style Charade Spring 2021 collection, we brought along a few of our very favorite friends – Allie Provost, Amy Littleson and Monica Awe-Etuk. The four of us go way back, and it was a joy and pleasure to spend time with them and the rest of the Sail to Sable team.
In terms of the trip, I wanted everyone to have a relaxing getaway. Often brand trips are filled to the brim with activities and experiences. Thankfully, the Sail to Sable team and I both agreed this trip should be chill. Sure, we wanted to capture photos of the beautiful collection. However, we wanted everyone just to enjoy the beauty and serene nature of Ocean House Rhode Island.
Ocean House Rhode Island
For those who aren’t familiar, Ocean House is located in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, and it is the ultimate five star domestic hotel. From the service to the food, views to the rooms, everything is simply perfection. Plus, Taylor Swift is your neighbor, which is pretty incredible! 🙂
Ocean House is a historic Rhode Island beach hotel perched on a bluff that’s become one of the best New England destinations. Arguably, Ocean House is the #1 hotel in the country in my book. In fact, their entire team sets the tone of pure hospitality perfection. Seriously.
Traveling to Ocean House feels like you’re coming home, and there’s an immediate familiarity yet surprises at every turn. First, there’s a gorgeous private beach with butler service, an award-winning spa with the most impeccable messages. Also, the indoor pools are perfect for a quick swim or families looking for entertainment. Furthermore, if you’re looking for more wellness, they have a fabulous fitness center.
Everything at Ocean House is next level – including their food and beverages. Depending on the time of year, Ocean House’s culinary offerings vary with a diverse mix of culinary delights, including Coast, The Bistro, Seaside Terrace, The Verandah, and the Secret Garden featuring Veuve Clicquot. So good!
How to Get to Ocean House
Ocean House is accessible by train, plane or automobile. The closest airport is Providence, Rhode Island, and then it’s a quick one hour drive from there. Furthermore, there are convenient trains from New York City and surrounding areas. Plus, if you live in Connecticut or Rhode Island, it’s a super quick trip (only two hours from Greenwich Connecticut).
In fact, Ocean House is approximately 3 hours from New York City (2 ½ hours by train); 1 ½ hours from Boston; and 45 minutes from historic Newport, Providence and its airports. For more information about how to get to Ocean House, visit this post.
Our Trip
Bob and I decided to fly into Ocean House early to capture content. After all, I wanted to make sure all of the guests felt at home and like they got the photos that they wanted to on property. Plus, I’ve learned that the actual launch days can be a bit stressful, so I wanted to take as much work off the plate as possible to focus on other things.
Allie, Amy and Monica are all complete PROs. Listen, I’ve organized and led SOOOO many influencer trips over the years, and I’ve seen everything under the sun. Beyond being amazing friends who are stylish and just all around phenomenal people, they are also all organized. Love that! They’re true professionals, and remained on time, stuck to the schedule, and just really went above and beyond to celebrate the collection.
Welcome Bags
For an extra special touch, Sail to Sable and I dreamed up the most fun gift bags for guests. Inside each bag was a pair of Jack Rogers slippers (SO comfy), snacks, the Sail to Sable x Style Charade Gwen Lounge Set, STS sweater and sweatshirt, Sail to Sable boat print pajama set, and the most perfect personalized pieces from Monogram Mary. Brooke of Monogram Mary is a close friend of Sail to Sable, and I absolutely love that she came on the trip with us. She is just pure joy!
Plus, her monogram pieces are phenomenal, like this fabulous Lulu tote bag, striped towel, clear travel pouch, and sleep mask. Every single item was just too fun, and I hope it put a smile on everyone’s faces!
Sail to Sable x Style Charade Spring 2021 Collection
For the Spring 2021 capsule collection, we were inspired by the beautiful serene blues and whites of Nantucket. The island is one of my favorite destinations in the world, and each piece embodies the gorgeous aspects of ACK. Overall, I have no doubt you’ll see various aspects of it incorporate in the collection from the hydrangea blue eyelet dress, striped blue maxi and crisp white eyelet dress.
If you haven’t already, please do check out the collection here! The entire collection is available in sizes XXS-3X, and international shipping is available. Every single piece was designed by me and the team at Sail to Sable, and I’ve loved hearing your feedback about it!
In Closing
Lastly, my sincere gratitude to the Sail to Sable and Ocean House Rhode Island teams for making this such an extraordinary experience. I highly recommend booking a trip to Ocean House to see the property for yourself. Finally, please do checkout the Sail to Sable x Style Charade Spring 2021 collection. Your support means the world!
