Have you ever attended an event with a room filled with strangers and wondered, “What in the world am I going to talk about?” Don’t get me wrong, I’m an extrovert, and I love connecting with new people. However, there are times when I’m at a loss for words (mostly when I’m tired!)
To combat these, “what am I going to talk about” moments, I have a few go-to questions that I like to ask in order to get to know someone better. One of my favorites? “Tell me about your…insert jewelry. Where did you get it?” Jewelry ALWAYS has a story – a family heirloom, something purchased during a trip, or just a fun memory. Accessories are one of the best ways to start a conversation, and it’s always FASCINATING to hear the answers! Each time, I walk away feeling like I got to know someone better.
Those who know me will tell you that I don’t own a lot of jewelry. Like, at all. I only invest in pieces that I’m obsessed with, and I keep a small (tiny even), collection of fashion and costume jewelry. Therefore, when I consider buying a new piece, I REALLY need to like it.
One of the online destinations that I’ve always loved for jewelry and accessories is Moon and Lola. Years ago, I was gifted one of their large monogram necklaces, and I adored it so much that I opted for this medium version. They also have a stellar collection of earrings and other fun accessories (can we talk about this pineapple pillow?!?) These fringe earrings are definitely my new favorites – I got the long version and short version for versatility with different outfits.
In addition to owning the styles myself, I love giving Moon and Lola jewelry as gifts to friends and family. Monogram pieces are timeless – they will always be in style. I love how Moon and Lola has also updated the monogram style by creating cool, unique pieces that you can’t find anywhere else (like this chic keychain and this fun fringe necklace).
What is one of your favorite jewelry pieces? What’s the story behind it? I’d love to hear about it in the comments section below!
Special thanks to Moon and Lola for sponsoring this post; all opinions expressed are my own. Collaborations like these help make Style Charade possible.
