This season, I went into New York Fashion Week with trepidation. Thankfully, I received an invite Milly Spring 2019 Fashion Show, which totally brightened the week. The brand is so fabulous!
Milly Spring 2019 Fashion Show
Although I was only in New York for four days, it was great to attend a few shows, meet up with brand partners, and (of course) catch up with dear friends. After a Friday morning show at the Public Library, I walked back to my hotel to change and then headed downtown for the MILLY Spring 2019 fashion show. The brand was so kind as to send me an outfit to wear, including this stripe sweater and midi skirt.
I love the sheer panel of the skirt – it totally reminds me of the version I wore in Paris earlier this year. The cab dropped me off just down the street, and as I walked up to the entrance, I bumped into my friend Mackenzie! We sat directly across the runway from each other, and we were able to share excited expressions about all of the amazing looks shown that afternoon.
The show itself was so incredibly vibrant. From cobalt blues to tangerines, bright corals and pinks, it was all so smile-inducing. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post to see a few of my snaps from the experience. I mostly took videos for Instagram Stories, so I only had a few still images on my phone. The full collection can be found here.
New York Fashion Week Experience
Friends, I also wanted to share my candid thoughts about NYFW. Sure, I’ve attended a few times before. However, there are challenges to the week-long fashionable affair. Listen, I’m a big believer that NYFW is what you make of it. People approach it differently, and that’s okay!
First, the city is extra congested during NYFW. Plus, hotel rates go through the roof. Oh, and you spend a ton of time in Uber. Regardless, there’s also an indescribable excitement to attending Fashion Week. Overall, I’ve always thought it’s what YOU make of it.
New York Fashion Week was particularly wonderful this season for three reasons. First, I adore spring and summer collections. Cheerful colors, gorgeous dresses, and bold prints? Yes, please!
Secondly, two of my favorite brands held full-on runway shows after having done presentations for years. Lastly, I have to keep the final reason under wraps for now 🙂 In summary, I’m working on a really amazing project in the works that can’t be shared just yet. As soon as I can reveal the news, I promise you’ll be the first to know!
