Do you ever have a designer or brand that just “gets” you? That’s how I feel about Mark D. Sikes. I first found out about Mark through his interior design work, where he has built quite an impressive roster of clients and partnerships. From his residential to commercial work, Mark designs spaces with a timeless yet breezy feel. His interiors are absolutely impeccable – as seen from his work for celebrities like Reese Witherspoon. Mark is responsible for designing the iconic Draper James stores in both Nashville and Dallas.
Using his eye for design, Mark branched out from interiors and launched MDS Stripes, a gorgeous clothing line dedicated to all-American style. The collection is made in California and features fresh colors, sumptuous fabrics like California 100% fine cotton, modern yet timeless silhouettes and preppy prints. Every piece instantly bring a smile to your face from bold color block midi skirts to preppy peasant tops, beautiful bell sleeve tops and everything in between. No detail is overlooked from the pocketing, drawstrings and ruching. I recently featured their Wyatt dress here, and it’s easily become one of my favorite pieces in my closet.
This MDS Stripes ruffle striped dress is my newest obsession. Not only is the quality of the fabric amazing, but the construction of the garment is impeccable. Even at the seams, the stripes line-up perfectly (as seen in the twirl photo above). What’s best is that the dress is timeless. I know it will be a go-to option for years to come. Not only does MDS Stripes create the most amazing garments, but their accessories are also completely covetable. If you’ve followed Style Charade for any amount of time, you know I love a matchy-matchy look (like here, here, and here), so this bamboo-handled MDS Stripes Signature Bag had me at “hello.” The brand has also collaborated with Margaux to create the most adorable espadrilles! Beyond that, MDS Stripes also has a made-to-order option for their most iconic pieces.
In addition to his success interior design business and fabulous fashion line, Mark also has partnerships with companies like Henredon Furniture. Finally, he’s even a bestselling author of Beautiful: All-American Decorating and Timeless Style.
Architectural Digest recently posted an article on Mark where they stated, “There are certain people who make you wonder: How does he have time for it all? Mark D. Sikes is, without question, one of those people.” I couldn’t agree more, and I can’t wait to see what he does next.

I had no idea the man behind MDS was actually an interior designer. So amazing! And this dress is amazing — my MDS shirt is still one of the best presents I’ve ever bought myself!
