Hello from the Dominican Republic! After spending the weekend in New York visiting friends, we took a seamless flight from Newark to Puerto Plata. A short drive later, we arrived to Playa Grande Beach Club. It’s a small yet magical resort. Think laid-back vibes and luxury interiors on the North coast of the country.
Playa Grande Beach Club
Originally, it was a private retreat for a group of close friends. This group includes interior designer, Celerie Kemble, actress, Mariska Hargitay, and designer Lela Rose. The utopian vacation spot has transitioned from an exclusive destination to a boutique hotel. Reservations are made solely via email. Moreover, I considered booking a trip three separate times. Sadly, the dates never worked out.
The resort’s neighbor, the ultra-modern Amanera, is a stark contrast to Playa Grande. We debated between the two places, and we even considered splitting our time between both. However, I’m so thankful that we decided to stay here the entire trip.
Resortwear for the Trip
When we arrived at our bungalow, I immediately unpacked and put on my swimsuit from Maison du Maillot. Are you familiar with their brand? It’s such a great online destination for resort and beachwear; I fell head over heels for this floral print swimsuit and matching culottes. It has a modern, yet retro vibe!
For our first evening at Playa Grande, I changed into this gorgeous yellow dress. Aren’t you loving the fact the yellow is making such a splash this season? I’m also obsessed with these statement earrings (I also have them in all pink – more in this post).
