Happy holiday break, friends! I have been waiting for this day for quite some time, lol. After months of traveling, long work hours, and some stressful health-related family stuff, winter vacation is just what to the doctor ordered. At the same time, we have some big “to-do’s” on our plate (i.e. we’re moving a family member out of their house and doing a thorough clean of our own home). Best of all, Bob and I will be together – and that’s all that matters.
This year’s holiday break will revolve around staying close to home and spending as much time with family as possible. Several months ago, we booked a two-week long trip to Australia. We were SOOO excited; Sydney, Melbourne, and Uluru have long been on my bucket list. Best of all, we were able to secure almost all of our flights on points. I had been dreaming of spending blissful hours in United Polaris roundtrip, enjoying a glass of wine (or two) and their Saks Fifth Avenue bedding (can you tell how much I love their flights)? Sadly, due to recent and sudden family health issues, we decided to cancel everything. Thankfully, United was amazing to work with in terms of refunding our miles and other charges. Better yet, they even extended Bob’s platinum status through 2020 (he would have otherwise run short on miles without this trip).
So alas, we will be spending our time in Chicago and Wisconsin. As much as a tropical cocktail by the sea sounds amazing right now, we are so incredibly blessed to be able to be with the ones we love. Moreover, thank you for being AMAZING readers and keeping my spirits bright. I always appreciate the opportunity to connect, and your positivity throughout the year is absolutely invaluable! Cheers to 2019!
