Listen, by all accounts, daytime denim outfits are easy. We’re all pros when it comes to making jeans work for everyday outfits. Simply add a top, t-shirt, sweater, boots, sneakers, and delicate jewelry, and you’re set!
But an elegant, effortless outfit with jeans? A bit more challenging. Plus, there’s a fine line between cheesy and classy.
Therefore, today, I wanted to share some of my best and favorite ways to dress up denim. As always, customize any outfit to aligns with your personal style. Hopefully these tips and styles just save you time when you’re in a similar situation.

From work to weekend, I’m always looking for ways to dress up denim. Even if I’m going into an office, I like elevating my work wardrobe. From business meetings to networking dinners, dressing up makes me feel confident. At the same time, I like to be comfortable. There’s nothing worse than feeling awful about your outfit or what you’re wearing.
Keep in mind, you don’t need to spend a fortunate to make dressed up denim styles happen. The best news is that you may have some of these items already in your closet, but I’m also including some of my top new arrival picks from Nordstrom. With some simple steps, you can take a look from great to glam.

Let’s start off with five ways to dress up denim. There are truly endless ways to make denim feel chic and effortless. As I’ve said before, these styling tips don’t need to break the bank. Don’t be afraid to comb through your closet to see what styles you already have. Add Sparkle & Shine
Metallics are a wonderful solution to take a casual outfit to a more formal level. The best way to add sparkle and shine is sequins. Add a sequin jacket, top, jacket, or sweater to any jeans for a memorable look. Below, I’m sharing some of my top sparkly styles.
Layer a Blazer or Vest
Beyond adding warmth, blazers are truly the best! Thankfully, Nordstrom has the best selection of styles at a range of prices. Start with Halogen or Caslon, who consistently sell stylish and tailored options. My favorite? This fitted blazer that works with everything (I also love this $79 version).
More recently, I’ve started to invest in more vests. While blazers continue to be my go-to layering piece, vests add visual interest, depth, and color to any outfit. This ivory fitted vest comes in multiple colors and it’s an amazing price. Don’t sleep on this style, friends.
Bold Statement Jewelry
Another fun way to dress up denim? Statement jewelry. The bigger and bolder, the better. Fom earrings to clutches, sparkly heels to a sequin jacket, there are endless ways to make your look extra special.
In this case, I brought out one of my old (but fabulous) statement necklaces from several years ago. Whenever I see a unique and interesting necklace, I buy it immediately.
Nordstrom’s brand, Open Edit, has a fantastic curated array of accessories to make your outfit amazing. I especially love these statement earrings that are sparkly and glam.
In today’s post, I layered my statement necklace over this gorgeous and soft ivory sweater. The silhouette of the sweater is incredible, and I love it so much that I bought it in two colors. It can be worn off one shoulder or slightly higher on your shoulders for a mock neck feel. The versatility of the piece is worth its weight in gold.
Additionally, these jeans are SO SO good. The wash is phenomenal, and the waist is super stretchy. I find the style to fit true to size, and it comes in other versions as well.
Style It With a Clutch
While crossbody and tote bags are great for everyday, clutches switch things up in an instant. I especially love any clutch styles that come with a removable handle or strap. Nordstrom has a fantastic array of clutches to chose from, and my personal favorite is this style.
High Heels
Last but not least, dressy heels will instantly dress up your denim. I personally love opting for a colorful pump or stilettos. but you can also opt for ordstrom is one of my go-to spots to find styles to help dress up denim.
