Earlier this month, we flew to Los Angeles for the weekend to attend the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. Knowing we’d have extra time, I brought this incredible Eliza J gold jacquard gown in hopes of finding a great location for a few photos. Initially, I thought of heading to the “Urban Light” installation at LACMA. After all, we hadn’t been there in years, and the rows and rows of lampposts make for a fun visual effect. Normally, it’s really tricky to find parking in the area. Plus, the space is always teeming with tourists and locals taking selfies. Regardless, we gave it a try and drove over to this iconic museum space after lunchtime. As luck would have it, we found parking nearby AND it was a quiet afternoon in terms of foot traffic! Win-win!
One of many reasons I love this gown (aside from the quality and price) is that it’s so easy to style multiple ways. The metallic floral pattern in the skirt portion of the dress is the perfect statement to pair with a black moto jacket, a sleeveless turtleneck, or even a classic white oxford. It’s amazing how a few different layers can make all the difference! I found the gown to fit true to size. I am wearing the regular length with my absolute highest Brian Atwood heels. If you’re 5’4″ and under (and don’t want to wear really high heels), I suggest ordering in petite sizing. Moreover, the straps are adjustable and it has pockets! It’s the perfect option for a formal fall wedding, holiday parties, or a blog shoot outside a museum (lol)!
