On our very first trip to Nantucket a few years ago, we had a lovely dinner at the incomparable Chanticleer in ‘Sconset. We sat on the main floor, with a view of the courtyard, and ate the most amazing meal. I knew that on this year’s ACK trip, we needed to make a stop for lunch at this island staple.
The exterior is as beautiful as the interior with a stunning garden, bright pops of blue and, of course, the iconic merry-go-round horse. While many readers often ask if I planned my outfits in advance to coordinate with my surroundings, I can tell you that this gingham-on-gingham photo shoot was completely spontaneous. Just before the trip, I made a stop at Nordstrom and came upon this incredible DVF blue gingham dress. Not only was it love at first sight, but when I actually tried it on, I knew it would be perfect for our Nantucket vacation (sizing tip: I found that it’s true to size). I also purchased a few new white tops and the most amazing split hem jeans (more on yesterday’s post).
After spending the morning on the Bluff Walk, we headed over to Chanticleer to check the hours and take a peek at their most current menu. Low and behold, I spotted blue gingham tablecloths and immediately ran back to the car where I had this dress (in hopes of finding a cute location for photos). Thankfully, we stopped by just before they opened for lunch, so we were able to take a couple of quick photos before the crowds arrived!

I love a nice gingham pattern and this definitely is one. Never thought of pairing this white and blue with pink but it is perfect. Thanks for sharing.
