Crazy Rich Asians Eleanor Young, played by the brilliant Michelle Yeoh, is the prim, proper and strict mother of Nick Young. Unlike Astrid and Rachel, Eleanor is the matriarch of modern Singapore chic. The ultimate embodiment of “old money,” Eleanor’s jewelry collection alone would make Elizabeth Taylor blush. From emerald accents to pinstripe suits, glamorous gowns and beautiful brooches, Eleanor’s wardrobe is not messing around.

How Would You Describe Eleanor Young of Crazy Rich Asians’ Style?
Michelle Yeoh described Eleanor’s style in a recent interview as “the most sophisticated woman you will ever meet,” she said. “It’s [Vogt’s] interpretation of the Singaporean and Hong Kong tai-tai, or those who ‘go to work for the family’. The way they are dressed, they are always immaculate, all the way from top to bottom.”
Pinstripe Suit
Talk about a wonderful fashion moment in the film! Pinstripe suits, when done correctly, are a game changer for a woman’s wardrobe. The key to a great suit is the tailoring, and clearly the fit of Eleanor’s Ralph Lauren suit is fitted within an inch of its life! Since the Ralph Lauren option will set you back a pretty penny, I’ve found this darling double breasted blazer and sleek pinstripe pants.
Valentino Gown
For her first appearance in the movie, Eleanor wears a Valentino chiffon gown in a beautiful burgundy hue. She accessories the elegant look with emerald earrings and an amazing emerald brooch. Reportedly, Michelle Yeoh used pieces from her personal jewelry collection. Crazy, right?!
Elie Saab Couture Gown
Another favorite look was Eleanor’s ethereal Elie Saab Couture gown and matching jacket for the wedding. While the bride stole the show (as she should), Eleanor looked positively beautiful! I highly recommend this Chicago-based brand for gowns (they are sparkly and always a great price)!
