How would you describe your personal home design style? For me, it’s a blend of Grandmillennial meets coastal inspirations. Think a pinch of Dorthy Draper and a dash of Nantucket. Sure, we love the Windy City. However, I’ve grown to appreciate a more serene home design style in a bustling urban environment. One of the best ways we’ve embraced this relaxed vibe? A healthy yet well-curated mix of coastal home accessories.
You see, stripes, floral patterns and plenty of blue and white add such a happy mix to our home. From our living room to bedroom, I try to incorporate smaller coastal home accessories. Ultimately, they help soften a space and spark joy.
While I look ahead at future home projects, I wanted to share some items that have caught my attention.
Coastal Home Accessories
Growing up, my family had a lot of blue and white in our home. In fact, we had a beautiful striped couch in our family room that my mom customized at Ethan Allen. I loved the bold pattern. To this day, it makes me think of her. It’s even one of the main reasons why we have that patterned wallpaper in our family room, and a striped couch in our living room. Often, I find it helpful to have pieces that remind you of your past. Blue and white stripes is it for me.
Thankfully, countless brands have unveiled gorgeous striped styles of vases, rugs, trays and beautiful artwork. One of my go-to’s is this brand, which is known for their gorgeous coastal furniture and accessories. In fact, I had the pleasure to travel with the company to see their San Francisco showroom, and I immediately fell in love with their amazing line. Expect several more pieces from their line in our new spaces to come!
Below, I’m highlighting some gorgeous styles that have been capturing my attention lately. Some are items we own, like these gorgeous ginger jars from the Lo Home x Lemon Stripes limited-edition collaboration. Others are pieces on our radar as we look to design future spaces in our home.
In closing, what are some of your fave coastal finds! Moreover, any pieces that you’ve had in your home that you absolutely adore? Lastly, let me know about your design style. It’s always inspiring to hear about how you design your spaces!
