Chicago’s freezing temperatures and winter weather warnings sometimes make it nearly impossible to capture content. Sure, the Windy City is home to beautiful locations (just see my Chicago street art guide). But the snow, sleet, and rain is always a battle for bloggers in the first few months of the year. Enter The Studio Chicago, a Chicago photography studio and event space. It’s truly been the perfect solution for content creation problems.
The Studio Chicago Photography Studio
The Studio Chicago photography studio officially opened in July 2021. Founded by Ali Stone, this 4,800 square foot Windy City photography studio space is the ideal location for campaign photo shoots and even special events. First, the natural light is AMAZING. Like epic. Even with direct sun, we were able to capture a ton of content.
Additionally, there are so many different set-ups to use for content creation – a kitchen, bathroom, upstairs makeup and hair space, living room area, white steps and blank backdrops. Moreover, they have a fitting room where you can change outfits (very helpful), along with a clothing rack, tables, and steamer set-up. Brilliant!
Chicago Photography Studio Location
The Studio Chicago is officially located on the Near South Side of Chicago and just blocks from McCormick Place. If you live, work and/or stay on the North Side of the city, expect to have a 20-30 minute drive to get there. Trust me, it’s worth it! Plus, there is plenty of street parking near and around the space – especially on Michigan Avenue.
If you’re booking 6 hours or more, you’ll receive 2 free 24 hour parking permits. Access to the building is also very secure, and the Studio Manager grants access and buzzes you into the space.
Furthermore, they have a loading dock where cars can drive in for equipment and other drop-offs. So smart!

Speaking of light, keep in mind The Studio Chicago faces South and West. Thankfully, they have black out curtains if needed.
