Happy Friday! It’s hard to believe that 2017 is just around the corner! This week’s Friday Charades includes more about our Houston trip last weekend, one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time, and more!

The polar vortex has officially hit the Midwest, and the wind chills are well below zero. IT. IS. SO. COLD. Local media has been warning that it only takes 30 minutes to get frostbite. And let’s be real – none of us REALLY want to get frostbite : ) A few weeks ago, I photographed the above look, and I’m glad I did so before the shift in weather! This cobalt off-the-shoulder dress has been restocked in all sizes, and it’s also available in black – a perfect New Year’s Eve option! The velvet embellished clutch is such a good price, too!

Last weekend, we took a quick trip to Houston to get out of the cold and to capture new blog content. For the trip, I partnered with Hotel Tonight and found an incredible deal at the JW Marriott Downtown Houston. You might not believe it, but I had no idea that the hotel had colorful murals on the exterior until I got there! In other new, this past Tuesday evening, I attended a beautiful fashion dinner hosted by Jena of ChiCityFashion and Bolaji of SociaLife Chicago at the new Baptiste & Bottle at Conrad Hotel Chicago. It was a joy to meet and network other local fashion enthusiasts (and the food was delicious)!

On Wednesday, I attended a preview of the movie LA LA Land, featuring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. As someone who grew up watching Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, and Gene Kelly, I was completely memorized and transported to an alternate universe while watching the film. It’s an instant classic, and I know it will win some major awards. LA LA Land easily tops as one of my favorite movies of all time. The music, colors, choreography, outfits, and plot? Unbelievable!

Earlier this week, I had a colorful collaboration with Nordstrom Rack. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the company. While visiting Houston, I stopped by their store at the Galleria and couldn’t believe my eyes. The selection of designer apparel was off the charts! They had three whole racks of kate spade new york (one of my favorite brands), and I swear I nearly fainted!
