As more vaccines roll out, COVID couples are finally getting the chance to host their wedding activities. Do you have a lot of weddings coming up? If so, I wanted to share a round-up of stylish bridal shower dress ideas for summer. Whether dressing up for a more formal occasion or a casual option for a beachside brunch, I’m curating affordable styles under $300. After all, you don’t need to spend a fortune in order to look incredibly elegant without upstaging the bride-to-be!
Bridal Shower Dress Ideas
For bridal shower dresses, my top recommendation is to opt for a midi length dress. Midis are the ideal option for these types of special occasions. First, the length is long enough to cover up when you’re sitting down at a table, yet short enough to give you the freedom to move around any space. Plus, the extra fabric compared to a knee-length will keep you warm if you’re outside.
Additionally, I love a maxi dress for a more formal occasion. Keep in mind, you’ll want to find an option that’s more flared at the bottom. Plus, don’t opt for anything with a super low neckline. Bridal showers are about the bride, and low necklines should be saved for other occasions.
Lastly, I highly recommend investing in a great cardigan and/or tailored blazer to style with your dress. Often bridal showers are hosted outdoors, and it’s nice to have a layering piece in case you get too cold.
Where to Shop for Bridal Shower Dress Ideas
Beyond the actual styles, I wanted to share some of my go-to websites for affordable dresses. Furthermore, let me know some of your favorite sites and resources. I’m always on the hunt for new options!
Bridal Shower Dress Ideas: ASOS
To be honest, ASOS is very hit or miss. First, you need to spend a lot of time scouring the website to find the best options. Plus, their sizing is often different than other brands. Please triple check their size guide before buying anything.
Frankly, the process sometimes feels like fashion whiplash. Most weeks, they knock it out of the park. Other days, it feels like ASOS is simply designing items for college students to wear to frat parties and nightclubs. Think part bebe, part Arden B, if you will (extra credit if you remember Arden B). 🙂
Therefore, the best starting point is the company’s two brands, ASOS Design or ASOS Edition. In most cases, you’ll be able to find a stylish option with a great price tag. Overall, some of my very favorite pieces in my closet are ASOS, like this blue dress. They were worth the scavenger hunt to find the gems.
Red Dress Boutique
Recently, I’ve fallen back in love with Red Dress Boutique. Years ago, I ordered from the brand a bunch. Over time, I stopped shopping the brand and opted for other sites instead. Thankfully, the brand has really raised their game lately, and I love their array of dress options. Plus, they drop new product every day, so there’s always something new to see.
H&M
Yep, H&M. Frankly, I’m REALLY excited and happy about the direction of their brand. First, they are placing a very strong emphasis on sustainability and moving towards more eco-friendly manufacturing practices. Overall, I love their recent collections and collaborations (like the upcoming Brock launch), and their dresses keep getting better and better.
Nordstrom
Oh Nordstrom, how I love thee. Let me count the ways, lol! I sincerely love Nordstrom more than I can put into words. Furthermore, they’ve been doing a great job of interspersing more affordable brands for customers. Looking for a few places to start? I recommend checking out Eliza J, Kay Unger, Tahari, English Factory, Endless Rose, and En Saison to start. Between those five brands, I personally find Eliza J to have the most consistently strong options. However, you can’t go wrong with any of those options listed above, truly! Also, I’ve personally started to love Open Edit, which also comes in Plus sizes.
Lulus
While I don’t frequently shop Lulus, their website packs a powerful punch. In fact, they have a superb collection of affordable dresses. Similar to ASOS, Lulus is the type of website that you really need to comb through in order to find a style that meets your needs. However, when somethings hits, it REALLY hits.
Shopbop
Similar to Nordstrom, I adore all things Shopbop. Like, they’re the best. However, the price points can very from ultra-luxury designer to more attainable prices. Overall, I recommend starting with this brand, along with this affordable company.
Tuckernuck
For the past 3-4 years, Tuckernuck has skyrocketed to my top list of online shopping destinations. They continue to release such phenomenal seasonal collections and curated pieces from other brands. In terms of more attainable options, start with their Pomander Place collection.
Rent the Runway
For a quick and efficient solution, Rent the Runway is always there in a pinch. Select your size, preferred rental dates, colors, designers, etc. and it’ll narrow down your search to various options. Love that!
