Yep, it’s a boyfriend jeans kind of day. Don’t be shocked, I actually wear denim lot more than you see on the blog – especially this year! 🙂 To be transparent, my full-time job has a very casual office vibe, and 99.9% of employees tend to wear denim on the daily. Now that we’re managing the pandemic and working from home, I tend to gravitate towards joggers and casual attire. Rest assured, I’d wear a ballgown to every day if it was acceptable, but for the past 10 years, my denim collection has grown.
How to Style Boyfriend Jeans
Boyfriend jeans are a great option for a 2020 work vibe. They’re effortless, easy, comfortable, slightly oversized, and very versatile. I love the way they can be dressed up and dressed down. Pair them with a sweater, a blazer or moto jacket, puff sleeved top, and you’re set!
I only own a few pairs of this style, and frankly – I don’t think you need more than 1-2 of them. The key is finding ones that you like and that will stand the test of time. Often, you’ll see a bunch of distressed and ripped boyfriend jean styles.
For me, I prefer a more timeless pair of relaxed options that won’t feel trendy or too young. My favorite style is this version. They’re SO comfy and fit true to size. I also have this style by FRAME and love darker wash (I found they run slightly large).
When styling boyfriend jeans, I love to add a few feminine touches for balance. A classic stiletto pump is the perfect juxtaposition for the relaxed fit of the pant. These pumps are absolutely worth the splurge and this brand has stylish yet affordable-ish alternatives. Lastly, you can’t ever go wrong pairing boyfriend jeans with a statement jacket or classic sweater or striped top.
Monthly Style Challenge
I’m beyond thankful my friend, Jess Ann Kirby, asked me to participate in her #MonthlyStyleChallenge. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the challenge, I highly recommend checking out more information here. Furthermore, Jess is making a donation to my charity of choice – When We All Vote – which is truly phenomenal!
I’ll be matching her donation, and I’m thankful for this wonderful aspect of her September Style Calendar. Please visit When We All Vote to learn how to register and get to the polls on election day!
