Alright, I have a confession. I am a crazy Internet researcher. Yep, I’m that obsessive friend who Googles no less than 20 articles before adding anything to my cart. Case in point? Trying to find the best under counter wine fridge for our kitchen.
Home appliances are important investments. We want to get it right, you know? After all, we’re going to actually live with the appliances for years. Why not ensure a functional and fashionable buy?
Wine Not?
When we first purchased our home, I was so excited about our kitchen renovation (as documented here). Prior to the pandemic, I wasn’t a big cook, and admittedly, I used our kitchen for two things – to store LaCroix and to make frozen pizzas and pasta. Haha!
Okay, not exactly just those two things, but pretty close. At the same time, I always envisioned our kitchen as the heart of our home. Moreover, I saw it as a reason to invite friends, family and guests over to host them at at our home.
At the same time, our kitchen needed some work. It had a weird configuration and it felt slightly outdated with the colors and overall vibe. required custom built-ins and other key elements to bring the space to life (photo below). Sure, the foundation of things were great. However, I wanted to make the space feel more like our own.

One of the items I really wanted in our space? A fabulous wine/beverage center. Some of my best memories have revolved around relaxing with family friends in their homes. You know, those weekend brunches and late nights when you pop a bottle and toast to life’s small and big moments.

Looking forward, I started researching wine fridges that would help store bottles for special evenings. Furthermore, we’ve never owned a beverage center in past apartments or homes. We were ready to invest in something sleek and durable, you know?
Viking Range Wine Fridge
Okay, so the previous home owners had installed all Viking Range appliances. I was sold. Since then, we’ve been cooking and spending a vast majority of our time in our kitchen. Therefore, we’ve used the Viking Range appliances a LOT. They’ve held up incredibly well even though our models are pretty old. Moreover, we’ve never needed to get them fixed, and we really love the performance in cleaning dishes, making meals, etc.
In order to pick the best under counter wine fridge for our space, we ended up selecting their 15″ Undercounter Wine Cellar. Beyond getting to pick between a left or right handle door handle (which is important), we loved the versatility of the interior space. Plus, with its multifunction controls, we can select our exact cabinet temperature from 33°F to 70° F. This way, we keep up to 24 bottles of wine cool but not overly chilled.
Granted, we don’t have that many bottles of wine in ours, haha!

Overall, they were helpful in us picking the right piece for our space.
Since installing the under counter wine fridge, we haven’t been able to host as many friends or family as previously planned. However, we look forward to hosting soon and toasting to special new memories!
