Spending 48 hours in Napa is always a good idea. When planning your next trip to Napa Valley, I highly recommend adding B Cellars Winery to your itinerary. By all regards, the Oakville winery estate is a relative newcomer. In fact, it was founded in 2003.
B Cellars Winery
Every time we travel, I love relying on recommendations from friends, family, and YOU. One name that kept coming up in conversation? B Cellars Winery. In case you are unfamiliar, they are Napa Valley’s only food and wine pairing destination built around a tasting kitchen.
In short, B Cellars Winery is more than just tours and tastings – it’s an experience. Their curated food menu rotates every five to six weeks. Above all, I love they value sustainability, fresh ingredients, and state-of-the-art wine.
B Cellars Food
At first, I was really surprised to hear a winery was serving food. I’ve been on enough wine tours to know you’re lucky if you get a pretzel or cracker. However, B Cellar’s founders wanted to find a solution to a common question. When consumers buy wine, the first question is:
“What am I going to eat with this bottle?!”
As a result, B Cellar’s tasting kitchen provides a simple answer. “Eat here.” Guests are able to enjoy both wine AND food amidst floor to ceiling windows that overlook the vineyards.
Each tasting of wine is specifically paired with a small bite of food. What better way to spend the middle of the day sipping wine and eating delicious small dishes?!
Our favorite wine? The red zinfandel – a runaway hits because of the peppery finish and hints of baked fruits. In fact, we purchased a bottle to bring home. I can’t wait to open it soon!
Lastly, their team are incredibly knowledgeable about every element of the tasting, too. Specifically, Audrey helped to explain all aspects of each wine as well as the food with which it was paired.
Our Experience at B Cellars
Some additional great aspects of the experience? The garden. Surprisingly enough, 75% of the produce they use in the kitchen is grown on the property. So cool! Furthermore, they do it via a traditional Amish style of farming. During our visit, general manager plucked a strawberry for us to taste. It was absolutely incredible!
Furthermore, let’s talk about the wines! B Cellars is a smaller vineyard. At the time, they were selling roughly 8-10,000 cases of wine each year directly through their winery.
Originally starting with four different types, the winery has now expanded to offers more than 20! Additionally, they have some amazing private tasting rooms for special occasions.
B Society Membership
Similar to other wineries, B Cellars has a membership program called B Society. In terms of membership benefits, “B Society” has access to some of their very best barrels.
Twice a year, they develop unique packages of highly acclaimed wines that get delivered right to members’ doorsteps. Furthermore, B Society members receive special preferential pricing and tasting experiences at the Oakville winery.
Our Tour
During our visit, we had the chance to do a tour of the property with Curtis, the General Manager. Additionally, Chef Derick showed us the garden. He highlighted the various fruits and crops on the estate. We had a great time chatting with both of them!
What I Wore to b Cellars Winery
Yes, I love wine and food, but fashion is always my first love. Therefore, I knew that I was going to wear this gorgeous maxi dress from Adrianna Papell. Talk about the perfect option for the occasion! Napa was over 100 degrees when we visited, and this style SAVED me. It’s lightweight and breathable. Also, I love the illusion it creates with the design.
In Closing
Special thanks to b Cellars Vineyard & Winery’s General Manager, Curtis Strohl along with Chef Derick Kuntz. We had a wonderful afternoon! Definitely make a trip to B Cellars – come for the experience and stay for the wine. Cheers!
Lastly, I’m so excited to head back! Napa Valley never disappoints. Moreover, I can’t wait to stop by B Cellars again on our next trip. In the event you find yourself in Napa Valley, schedule a tasting at B Cellars Winery. I’m confident that you’ll love it as much as we do!
